Skin tolerance need to be built gradually: If you have never used a retinol product before, begin by limiting use to twice a week, gradually increasing frequency to every other night, and then advancing to each night when your skin is tolerated. Mild redness, peeling and irritation is expected when your skin tolerance has not been built.

3. Gradually lower the penetration as follows:
If you're a beginner, consider using our retinol cream instead of the serum. Creams remain on the skin's surface and are less likely to cause breakouts.
You can mix a small amount of retinol serum into your cream to reduce its penetration.
4. Apply retinol serum to dry skin rather than damp skin, as this is less likely to cause irritations.
5. After applying retinol serum, use a rich moisturizer to prevent dryness or peeling. Retinol may lead to peeling, which is one of its intended effects. Your moisturizer should contain hyaluronic acid and nourishing essential oils to combat dryness.
6. Consider spraying our 100% pure organic rosewater before or after using retinol serum to reduce redness or dryness, which can sometimes occur with retinol use.
Building tolerance to retinol varies from person to person. While some may adjust in a month, others might take up to 6-9 months or longer. Don't give up too easily due to the common initial skin intolerance reactions experienced by beginner retinol users. Remember, retinol is a highly effective anti-aging ingredient, and the results are often worth the effort and patience.
